Scholarship Policy

 

The LIST Fee Concession & Scholarship Policy has the following features:

  • Merit Based Scholarship
  • Need Based Scholarship
  • Scholarship for Siblings of Existing Students

 Merit Based Scholarship

  • The Institute will award merit scholarship (in the form of 40% tuition fee waiver) to top 5% students admitted in the first semester of each program on the basis of merit determined at the time of admission.
  • Any student who gets admission after the due date of fee deposit / scheduled test date / commencement of the semester, shall not be entitled to get merit scholarship in the first semester.

In addition, fee waivers to position holders of BISE examination / Diploma holders are admissible in the first semester as follows:

  • 75% tuition fee waiver to first position holder
  • 50% tuition fee waiver to second position holder
  • 30% tuition fee waiver to third position holder

Tuition fee waivers are also allowed in the first semester to the students admitted on A-level basis.

  • Three A’s in A-Level 50%tuition fee waiver
  • Two A’s in A-Level 25%tuition fee waiver

This award is only for the first semester. For subsequent semesters, the students would have to compete according to following scheme.

 Need Based Scholarship

General

  • Definition: a need based scholarship is a monetary grant in shape of fee concession given to the students who cannot pay their University dues.
  • It is awarded to the students based on their household incomes. If they are from a low income family they are likely to get a need based scholarship to help pay for their tuition fees.
  • Attending a University can be an expensive prospect-getting means that some or the entire tuition fee is paid for in exchange of putting their academic talent in work.
  • Any student who has this ability to follow through with all the hard work, it will take to achieve the dreams and the goals that have been set up by him.
  • Student should have belief in himself and a firm conviction that he needs to build a better himself and to become a person who makes a difference in the world.
  • Scholarships are beneficial not just for the personal gains they provide but also boost up the ego of the recipients.
  • As the student is working towards an amazing opportunity that will eventually pay off remarkable dividends in the future. It should be thought of as an investment in future.

Procedure

Students desirous of need-based financial assistance shall apply on the prescribed form along with following documents:

  • Copy of Student ID Card & CNIC/B-Form
  • Copy of Father CNIC
  • Copies of Educational Documents
  • Evidence of Father’s / Guardians income like authenticated salary certificate or Pension Book
  • In case of orphan category, copy of death certificate
  • Copies of utility bills for the period of last six months
  • Copy of bank statement in case of income from business
  • Copy of rent agreement in case of rented house or in case of income from house rent
  • Copies of fee bills of other siblings
  • Any other document which the financial assistance committee deems necessary

Evaluation / Need Assessment

Financial assistance committee considers all applications for the grant of need based assistance in the light of evidences submitted.

  • The authenticity of the information provided by the student can be verified by cross checking of the data provided.
  • If any information is not clear, the financial assistance committee may call the parents or depute someone for physical verification of the data provided.
  • During the verification process, if the committee finds that the information provided by the applicant is false, the financial assistance committee carries the discretion to disqualify the student from attaining financial assistance and can forward the case to the disciplinary committee for more stringent action in case of significant concealment of financial information.
  • The committee takes decisions pertaining to financial information.

The candidate has to maintain 3.5 CGPA in each semester in order to carry on with the need based scholarship. If the student fails to maintain the mentioned CGPA their scholarship will be terminated.

 

Scholarship for Siblings of Existing Students

 

  1. If siblings are studying in LIST then the candidate will get 40% fee Concession on tuition fee.
  2. The sibling getting brother / sister concession cannot apply for need based scholarship. However, the siblings not getting this concession can be granted, at the most, 50% fee concession if they deserve this on the basis of need.
  3. A student can avail only one form of financial assistance at one time.

The candidate has to maintain 3.5 CGPA in each semester in order to carry on with the siblings based scholarship. If the student fails to maintain the mentioned CGPA their scholarship will be terminated.
